The principal designer at grettworks is Rick Grett, an interior design graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, who went on to work with design firms in Corpus Christi, Fort Worth, and Palm Springs.  He returned to Texas to work with Billy W. Francis Associates before opening his own firm, Richard Lee Grett Interiors.

 

Working mostly with residential clients, Rick has successfully completed projects from Houston to Cape Cod to London.  The mainstay of Rick Grett’s interiors is classic furnishings, often blended with antiques and modern art, with a strong connection to architectural elements.  He is always mindful that the design is a personal reflection of the client, and collaborates effectively to honor each client’s individuality.

 

Rick has solved design challenges for many clients over the years by designing and supervising fabrication of custom furniture; utilizing local artisans to create one-of-a-kind pieces that are uniquely dimensioned for a client’s specific needs and comfort.  He also has extensive training and experience in residential illumination and can maximize a home’s aesthetics, functionality, and energy efficiency by designing a detailed lighting plan.  With his practice evolving to include furniture and lighting design, Rick changed the name of his firm to grettworks in 2008 to reflect this diversity.
