New York Townhouse

The 4-story Greenwich Village townhouse, built in 1869, is Rick Grett’s fourth project for the Houston Client and his one requirement was to locally purchase all furnishings and to not order custom pieces. The Client wanted his home to reflect the Bohemian style of the Village with a homey feel.

The Client also wanted unique items relating to the history and character of

New York, such as:

  • The Entry mirror is crafted from the exterior copper cornice salvaged from the 1921 Crown Building.

  • A reclaimed maple butcher block top with pair of vintage original paint industrial jacks is the Brooklyn-crafted Entry bench.

  • An early 20th Century Beaux Arts style wrought and cast iron grille (embellished urn and scrollwork frame) is above a vintage metal original paint sawhorse/reclaimed maple butcher block top (crafted in Brooklyn).
