Houston Townhome

The homeowner works from her residence and wanted a space that would serve as both a dining area and a place to meet with clients.  The large open space needed definition, enhanced lighting, furnishings designed for the space, and artwork to bring texture
and color.

The placement of the curved banquette sofa, adjacent to the Entry, defines the Dining area.  Rick Grett designed the locally-crafted table with a cerused black oak top and steel base.  Three natural cherry armchairs contrast the visual weight of the table and banquette sofa.

The light fixture was created by uniting three bronze fixtures with the custom ceiling canopy.  Rick worked with local artisans to produce the console, using reclaimed travertine columns and a travertine top.  Adjacent is a large framed Kuba cloth which serves to anchor the Entry.
